Residents Beautify Oakley Neighborhood

I had the opportunity to attend the city beautification project yesterday that repainted and repaired the worn down and mismatched fencing along Vintage Parkway and Big Break Road as a group of about 40-50 people worked hard to improve the community.

People of all ages participated from a little guy about 3 years old handing out water to retired residents, it was a fabulous mix of community spirit which the city did a great job in coordinating the effort which had Mayor Kevin Romick and Ironhouse Sanitary District President Doug Hardcastle, Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed executive director Diane Burgis and City Manager Bryan Montgomery out painting fences.

Here is the roll call on which City Council Candidates were in attendance

  • Randi Alder – Present
  • Ron Borland – Absent
  • Diane Burgis – Present
  • Dave Hansen – Absent
  • Doug Hardcastle – Present
  • Kevin Romick – Present

Here are the pictures from yesterday’s event that I took.
