Congressman McNerney Tours Downtown Oakley

Mayor Kevin Romick hosted Congressman Jerry McNerney on behalf of the City of Oakley yesterday as the two discussed Oakley’s downtown and its future plans, the school district, and other issues the city is facing.

The two visited Black Bear Diner and met with Jimmy and Brenda D’Amico, toured the beautiful brand new Carpaccios and met with Manuel Munoz.  The two then walked the road construction in front of the new La Costa building  as Mayor Romick described the vision Oakley has with its downtown.

On January 17 between 5-7 pm,  Congressman McNerney will hold an open house at his new office in the City of Antioch.  Congressman McNerney and members of his staff will be on hand to provide information to residents of the Antioch area about the services and assistance his office can provide.  Members of the media are welcome to attend.

  1. Mike great pictures. It was great meeting Congressmen McNerney and talking with him. Thanks Major Romick for bringing him by.

  2. Glad to see Congressman McNerney is making the rounds. That is more than I can say he did during his election.

  3. Why did the Mayor feel the need to only take him to Black Bear and Carpaccios? There are other business in Oakley would could have met with him to discuss Oakley. Carpaccios isn’t even open yet so what does he know about Oakley? Why was no other council person present? What a glory hog.
